Gar Hildenbrand Alternatives was founded by Gar Hildenbrand, known and respected for contributions in outcomes research and US federal policy regarding alternative methods of cancer management. From his critical role during the 1980s with the US Congressional Office of Technology Assessment study Unconventional Cancer Treatments (OTA H-405), Hildenbrand has been recognized as a scholarly contributor to the growing field of evaluation of the alternatives.

The Gar Hildenbrand Alternatives Cancer Treatment and Education Program (AltCTEP), however, goes beyond issues of science and evaluation to a core concern of most medical consumers: effective treatment. It should come as no surprise that the medical-industrial-regulatory complex has failed to support development of nonproprietary anticancer agents and methods. It is, however, saddening that US physicians, indeed physicians throughout most of the industrialized world, have not become sufficiently curious to investigate the literature of William B. Coley, Max B. Gerson, Demetrio Sodi-Pallares, and others. With the cooperation of CHIPSA, we have integrated these orphaned treatments, and made them available.
